Introducing Prairie Farmapothecary — a body and skincare brand I’m creating alongside Pure Anada.
I (Candace) grew up on a dairy farm and have always found country life to be so idyllic. When our family purchased a quaint farmyard a few years ago, it was the big red barn that truly captured my heart. So when ancestral ingredients began to gain popularity, I was curious.
Pure Anada, for the most part, is crafted with plant-based oils, butters, and waxes. While I still find our ingredient repertoire to be so lovely, I was intrigued to try working with materials from local farms.
The products designed for the Prairie Farmapothecary line focus on ancestral ingredients - locally sourced whenever possible. We have a relationship with a nearby butcher who supplies our tallow. The honey comes from our neighbor’s hives. The goat’s milk soap is from a long-time friend, and next year, I plan to harvest calendula and echinacea from my own garden.
The textures are luxurious, and the scents are sweet and lovely. Your skin will never feel softer or more nourished.
This is only the beginning - I have so many ideas brewing for future products, and I can’t wait to share them with you.
