Product Shelf Life

Extra care needs to be taken with natural products on store shelves. Pure Anada products are more like food than conventional cosmetics when it comes to perishability.
A lot number is displayed on all of our product labels. The lot number indicates the date that the product was manufactured.
Shelf life: time of manufacture - until it’s unsuitable to use or sell. How to tell if it's no longer suitable? If it smells rancid, the plant oils/butters have oxidized and no longer healthy for application.
PAO or Period After Opening: time of package opening - until it should be discarded by the consumer. Each time you use a product, bacteria is introduced and begins to proliferate. To continue using a product after the PAO can be harmful for your skin and eyes.
NOTE: It is very important to be mindful of keeping natural cosmetics rotated on your shelf. However, there isn't a definitive date that a product "expires". If you are unsure of specific stock on your shelf, feel free to email us with the product (or shade) name and lot number of the item(s) in question. We will check our control sample and let you know its status, which will determine if you should take it off your shelf or leave it for sale.
